Long Beach

Long Island comes alive in the summertime. Our real estate agents from Long Beach look forward to this season every year, and Long Beach offers a packed schedule of festivals, outdoor concerts, markets, and other events. If you're on Long Island checking out Nassau County homes for sale, be sure to set aside some time for these exciting summer happenings in Long Beach.

  1. Long Beach Farmers Market - 1 W Chester St, Long Beach, NY 11561
Taking place twice weekly throughout the summer months, the Long Beach Farmers Market is a highlight of the season. The market overtakes the plaza in front of Long Beach City Hall every Wednesday and Saturday from 9 am to 2 pm, helping bring local food to the local community. Each market offers a broad assortment of fresh local goods from regional farmers, artisans, and bakers, making the Long Beach Farmers Market one of the best places in Nassau County to shop for organic produce and a wide range of handmade goods and food products.

  2. Summer Concert Series on the Beach - Long Beach, NY 11561
With the wide-open waters of the Atlantic as its backdrop, nothing says summer on Long Island like live music on the beach. Long Beach's Summer Concert Series on the Beach offers some of the best oceanside entertainment on the South Shore. An ever-changing lineup of bands is scheduled to perform each Wednesday at 7 pm, ranging from blues, reggae, and jam bands to Elvis and Jimmy Buffett tribute acts. The location rotates among several area beaches from week to week, including Grand Boulevard Beach, Edwards Boulevard Beach, and Lincoln Boulevard Beach.

  3. The Kiefer Swim-Paddle-Run - Riverside Blvd, Long Beach, NY 11561
Part of a series of races and runs throughout the year in Long Beach, the Kiefer Swim-Paddle-Run is held annually in honor of Michael V. Kiefer, a Long Beach native who served as a New York City Firefighter and gave his life on September 11, 2001. Race check-in begins at 7:30 am on Sunday, July 27, 2025, on Riverside Boulevard Beach. The event gets underway at 8:45 with a 150-yard dash to the swim entry point, a 400-yard ocean swim, and a half-mile paddleboard segment, finishing with a 1.5-mile beach run.

  4. Arts in the Plaza - 1 W Chester St, Long Beach, NY 11561
Saturdays in Long Beach mean it's time for Arts in the Plaza, a local craft and art fair that takes place every Saturday from Memorial Day to Halloween. The market sets up from 9 am to 2 pm in Kennedy Plaza in the heart of Long Beach, and attendees can browse an incredible array of local handmade products ranging from fine art and photography prints to clothing, jewelry, and leather goods. Arts in the Plaza is a fantastic opportunity to discover what Nassau County's art scene has to offer every week.

  5. Movies on the Beach - Long Beach, NY 11561
The city of Long Beach hosts an annual Movies on the Beach series during the summer months. The tradition was started in 2012 by the West End to the other neighborhood civic association and has grown to become a beloved local tradition. Bring a beach blanket or lawn chair and get ready to enjoy classic films and recent blockbusters as the sun goes down. Upcoming showings include Moana 2 on August 16 at Grand Boulevard Beach and Jaws on September 5 at Edwards Boulevard Beach.

Contact us today to learn more about life on Long Island. Our real estate agents are here to help you find the best Nassau and Suffolk County homes for sale.
